Merlinda Moonwave vs Mercury Part 2

In my quest to overcome the impacts of Mercury in retrograde, I have achieved a new level of discovery. Mercury in retrograde is not something to fear. It's almost like a behind the scenes movie reel of one's least favorite past emotions. Except you feel it, rather than seeing it. It seeps out through your energy and it can impact your daily business. This little "blooper reel" from Mercury can be a blessing in disguise. Let it remind you of what you don't want to be so that you work harder at being who you want to be. It's almost like reverse psychology on Mercury's behalf; we are being tricked into becoming better versions of ourselves.

It's easier than you think. You just need to acknowledge whatever negative thoughts or emotions that are blocking you, and release them. So in an act of self love, I am going to officially declare what I am and stop hiding. I am a Shaman High Priestess, possibly from several different eras. Sometimes I downplay the height of my skills because of the fear of rejection, but those days are over. Earlier this year I asked my divine guide for my medicine name. The answer was Moonwave. A medicine name symbolizes a Shaman's unique healing energy and what they have to contribute to society. I wish to radiate positive energy like moonlight on water. I am here to facilitate healing through emotional well-being. I specialize in helping magically inclined folk.  Being emotional and sensitive is often frowned upon, but it is what makes me receptive and strong. Emotion is power, emotion is energy. I want to help teach others how to achieve emotional health, emotional strength. I want to give readings, write books, and hold seminars. This is my truth that I claim to the universe. This is an open invitation to join my tribe.

Merlinda Moonwave Vs Mercury Part 1

I try not to put too much stake into Mercury's retrograde status. It's made up to be this huge problem, but really it doesn't have to be. I'll admit it, the last few days I have felt drained and less motivated. What's more concerning is that I've reverted to old emotional habits that I've outgrown. I let many things bother me yesterday and was easily annoyed. I was beating myself up about every little thing - "I did this wrong, I screwed that up, I'm a terrible person because of this other thing, that person doesn't like me".

So how is this not a problem? Because I'm not going to let it be one. Whether it's Mercury or strange mood weather, I can recognize that these thoughts and actions are not part of who I am or want to be. I recognize that these negative thought patterns are not helpful to me in any way. So it stops right now.  I felt my energy shift the moment I started writing this post, I'm feeling better already. I've been using my "XYZ" trick  to wrangle up all that anxiety ridden self talk that was running loose in my mind. Today I will be a better friend to myself. I will believe in myself when making editorial decisions, which will increase my productivity. I will not allow myself to become irritated if something doesn't work out.

Just a few months ago, I was laying in bed with one working leg and two paralyzed hands. I got through that by believing in myself and turning my frustration into creative/healing power. I've come this far, so I will not allow any negativity to derail me.  I've read that retrogrades can be viewed as opportunities to heal aspects from our past. I think that is a brilliant way to look at it, so that is what I will do. To heal yourself, find the belief in your heart. Know that you can do it for yourself. That mindset is everything. Can you look past the things that you fight with yourself about? Can you symbolically take yourself by the hand as if you were a child and be your own guardian? By healing the wounds of our past, we expand towards a brighter future. If we are more accepting of ourselves, we will also be more patient with others. The change starts within and radiates outwards.

How to Expand Your Soul Part 1

Avoid soul shrinking behavior. Don't gossip, don't judge others, don't judge yourself, avoid negative self talk, don't make a big deal about small issues - especially regarding material possessions, don't get caught up in social media drama.  It sounds like a lot of don'ts, but it's really worth it. I'm not saying be fake. If you need to speak your mind, be real, but don't be mean.

A few months ago I tried a challenge about avoiding negative thoughts for an entire weekend. I liked it so much that I haven't stopped. Every time I had a negative thought, I would put myself in check. I have been developing 360 degree perception. That means truly seeing all possibilities in a situation or in another person's actions - not judging something as entirely one way.  I'm a very sensitive person, nothing will change that. I had to rewire how I react to the multitude of information that I receive on a daily basis. How can one be empathic but not hardened by the burdens that come with the skill? This is the way.

Rewiring takes commitment. You need to work on it every day. Any time I had I thought I didn't want, I would repeat "X Y Z" in my head until a new thought was ready to take over. X, Y, and Z represent mathematical variables. I like that they are placeholders, but not a true thought. It's like sorbet for the mind. You can pick whatever phrase you want - perhaps song lyrics, a poem, a quote. Whatever you need to snap you out of a negative thought. Eventually I didn't need X Y Z anymore, I was just automatically perceiving without judgment. I also stopped judging myself, and that is huge. I have been overly self critical in the past, which was stifling in many ways. This energy came to full fruition two weeks ago, opening many doors & also helping me spread joy to others. I am myself in a way I never thought possible. You can achieve this too, just give it a try.
